I found them both at Spanking Bethie's blog. I already had her link, but visited her again after seeing she just got a new review from Jane's Guide (congratulations!). No stories lately. RL intrudes, and I'm not in a writing mood, though I do think of ideas now and then. I had another inspiration, to include ratings of my own stories. One idea is to include my own ratings, which would let you know which stories I think are the better ones. Another is to solicit ratings from visitors to the site. I doubt I'd put in scripts to do it automatically, but would take the ratings by e-mail. I get so little real e-mail in any case that that would not hurt. In a typical week I get hundreds of spam messages to my published address, and zero messages about anything else. 03/30/2005I added a few links to my links page: Velvet Babe from writer Valentine Bonnaire; Mazora's World, a collection of stories; Annabelle's Dungeon of Depravity, with Annabelle's stories; Phaze.com, which sells e-books; and The Mysterious Mr. Lee, another story collection, which includes the wonderful story, "Kansas", by SusanSusan. 03/26/2005I just finished "No Doubt" about the guy whose girlfriend has a passion for a gay video. I'm uploading it as well as "One Up", which has received some more editing. Also, I've made a few edits to "Sweet Serenity". Also, I submitted this blog to Search 4 Blogs, an index of blogs, and was accepted. 03/25/2005I just completed "One Up", my story about a Chinese waitress. The title was just the first thing I came up with and I might change it if I think of something that strikes me as clever. It's amazing to me that the genesis of this story was sitting in a Chinese restaurant and thinking "I could write a story that involves sex and a waitress of a Chinese restaurant." In spinning that out into a story, it turned into something with a plot. I've even considered submitting it for publication. I may tinker with the story some more, trying to get its plausibility up. Sometimes a story's success hangs on whether it has gone over that line into implausibility, and as the author, I often skate on a thin edge. That's my territory. Or, another way to put it, sometimes just a little bit of difference could make a story feel plausible to a lot more readers. I've received feedback in the past about the implausibility of my stories, so I know that people vary in what they accept. Another thing about this story is that it is not a domination story per se. There is spanking, but though I don't see it as gratuitous (it does help the story), to a large extent, it is just a kind of hot sex. So the story is basically vanilla. Unfortunately, this story's slated for the membership section, if I were to add it right now. The membership section is due three stories before the free section gets another one. This was the story I wanted to get out of my system, but I glanced back at my recent story-ideas and noticed another that I put a bit of mental effort into but haven't actually written. It's about a guy whose girlfriend repeatedly watches the same gay video, by herself. You know that can't lead to anything good. 03/23/2005I'm doing a little updating of the links site, checking, cleaning. In the process, I ran across a blog of photos that I'm adding, Lithium Picnic. I found it at sexuality.org. I noticed in my web statistics that "Sweet Serenity" is my most-downloaded story. I guess folks do look for my latest offering. 03/16/2005I just made the descriptions of the membership stories available for free, linked from the page about joining. All to lure you into my little trap, heh, heh (wicked grin). I had a thought this evening, that of the last four stories I put up, two of them did not include spankings, whippings, and other such overt domination. Sometimes I feel too many of my stories are going in that direction, and I feel I should have more "vanilla" stories since I like them as well. Well, I suppose there's almost always a degree of domination in my stories. As I wrote yesterday, I still have one more story rattling in my brain. Maybe I'll start it this evening. 03/15/2005Well, I really am going to stop writing for a while and pursue my Real Life. Really, I am. I just uploaded my four latest stories. "Sweet Serenity" is in the free section, about a visit to a fancy spa. I wrote it Sunday. In the membership section, is "Old Life" which I also finished yesterday, about a couple's discussion of their marriage, "Valued Assistance," also finished yesterday, about a graduate student befriending an open-minded woman, and "No Problem" also finished Sunday, about a medical checkup. It occurs to me that I never wrote out the story about the Chinese waitress, so you might see that soon. 03/12/2005I sold a membership. Yay! In case you aren't aware of the fact, a personal story site like this is not exactly a gold mine. I sold one membership in February and this is the first membership I sold this month. Fortunately, this website is very low overhead in terms of money and twelve memberships a year covers the monetary costs. But it does suck up a lot of time, and my hourly wage is pretty pitiful. It's really just a hobby that offsets its out-of-pocket costs. Of course, I wish more folks were reading my stories. There are excellent stories in the membership area that few people read. I'm trying to do other things besides write these days, but there are three stories rattling around in my head waiting to be put to paper. One is partly written and isn't going too well. It's about a graduate student who is lured into an entirely different sort of life by a new friend who enjoys education less and enjoys sex more. Another story is one of those stories that began with a very simple idea: "why not write a story about a waitress in a Chinese restaurant" and has grown into something with a real plot. The third story is short and plotless, more an impression than a story. I may finish it first because it is the most straight forward. Looking at my story descriptions, I already find errors in the codes. I fix them as I see them. Your mileage may vary. You get what you pay for, and there's no such thing as a free lunch. (Well, you might be paying to enjoy the membership area, but it's the stories I'm selling, not the descriptions.) 03/06/2005I finished writing codes and descriptions for the stories, and added description pages for both the free and membership stories. Check them out. I figure if someone discovers these stories, they would have to read a few to find out whether the style clicks with them. Perhaps with descriptions, people will stick around and read a few. With three hundred stories, it was hard to maintain uniformity. Over time, I'll improve the codes and descriptions. I also uploaded my two new stories, "Quiet Celebration" and "Sweet Revenge". Both are in the member's area. 03/04/2005I added a couple of links. The Scarlet Room sent me referrals. I found this blog, Usefulidiot dot com surfing. Someone at Xbiz gave me a nice mention in one of their forums. With this entry, I'm really just trying out this blog to see if it works.
