Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia. -- E.L. Doctorow

Alas, my blog doesn't include online comments, but feel free to share your responses with me at cyan@protgp.com 01/31/2005I gave my four stories a final edit and I'm uploading them. Happy reading! 01/30/2005I wrote two more stories today. Had a bit of time and two stories in my head. One is about a woman who is seduced by a clerk at a cosmetics counter, in a kinky way. The other is about a husband who ends up giving his wife oral nearly every chance they get. It's a turnaround from what they expected. It's yet another story where the wife gets a femdomish idea by happenstance, then becomes hooked. This is one of my "things" at the moment: an ordinary couple falls into a kinky life when happenstance apparently uncovers desires they were unaware of. I couldn't think of titles for either one, so I just came up with something. I never write stories to titles, it's always the other way around. I have to think of something to identify the story and seldom change it later. Sometimes I manage something that fits the story, sometimes the connection is not something anyone but I would see. I figure the perfect clever title is one that fits the story from the beginning, but a special particular meaning is revealed at the end of the story. I think I've managed that a few times, but more often, it's just something I came up with. This makes four stories I have completed but not uploaded. I'll get them out there soon. One will be free, which will be my sixtieth free story on the site. I started out saying the site has forty free stories, then went up to fifty. As I upload this, I'm putting the blog in the normal menu, finally. I figure I have the blog set up the way I want it to be and it has a little content. 01/26/2005Well, I conclude that G o o g l e has definitely blacklisted Cyan Stories, and by surfing and reading, I conclude it is likely to be pages I set up to help people find the free stories through search engines. I set up a bunch of pages in which select strings such as "adult sex stories" were prominent. From my current reading, I gather that G o o g l e could consider this to be "search engine spamming" and I can appreciate that they are trying to guard against such things. In my site's defense, every page I put up did have the promised content. The page that said "adult sex stories" did have adult sex stories. Good ones, too. This is quite different than all those pages some sites have put up that, for example, include the the name of a certain beautiful Russian tennis star, yet the actual page has nothing about her, merely using her name to draw surfers to whatever they are selling. And yet G o o g l e doesn't like it, or at least that is what I've concluded made them reject my site. Thus I've removed those pages. A quick review reveals that the pages did little for the site's traffic in any case. G o o g l e is vague about what they allow, preferring to put their instructions in a "positive" way by saying things like "put good content in your pages", without being very specific about where their lines are. Also, the web that they deal with is so huge that they cannot possibly give a website owner much attention regarding appeals and reviews of sites they found questionable. The decision to reject it was either made through software or by a person who has many other sites to deal with. I did read that you can e-mail a certain G o o g l e address to ask them to look at the site again, but you won't hear from them. You can merely watch to see if they start carrying your site again in a few months. Sorry to go on about this, but this is part of running a site like this one. 01/23/2005I wrote and finished one more story a few days ago, which was too fresh in my mind to pass up. It's a simple story about a woman whose best friend comes on to her very suddenly. The woman shows this attitude that she has serious reservations, and tries to talk her friend out of it, yet it's clear that as long as her friend insists, the woman will going along with it. This type of attitude has intrigued me lately and I've put it in several stories, the idea that someone says "I don't think this is a good idea," all while they are cooperating fully. It's that they know they are doing something wrong or unwise, but an unrecognized desire within them undercuts their strength to stop things. With this story, I have two finished stories not yet added to the site. That fulfills my personal two-per-month quota for January. I have two more story ideas in my mind, but neither is a developed story, so if I write them now, they'll be pretty simple and straight forward. I began writing one, which is a typical sorority initiation story. Perhaps the main points in it is a "good cop bad cop" game that the sorority plays with the narrator to seduce her into cooperation, and the fact that the sorority doesn't actually accept every pledge, the unselected becoming "house slaves". A writing goal is to make the sorority never deny this and even explain it in a mild way when inviting her to pledge, yet do so in such manner that she doesn't give it thought. Another part of the idea is that there never be a specific time when she is formally told initiation is over. It's merely that if she isn't chosen, initiation goes on forever. I also made the entire initiation "under the table" since a sorority today would be under a strict school code. I began the story and have 2,000 words, but it's flat. The story is too ordinary for me and even with what I described, there's not much to give it a lot of interest. It may be that I never finish it and it just languishes. It's just too long, given the content. The other story idea is even simpler. A couple who are both a bit passive or submissive, are directed to a place to spice things up for them. How to engineer that in a plausible way is a challenge. A female friend is talking to them both, and in some natural way, picks up that the two of them both feel their love life is a bit flat. Since they'd be private people, the circumstance would has to be just right. The couple has to hear of it together. Neither would have the initiative to pass on such an outrageous suggestion to the other. The invitation consists of merely an address, a card, and a pass phrase. The address is of a nice restaurant, and while the hostess shows mere confusion when presented with the card, she immediately takes them to the beautiful owner once they tell her the phrase. The owner leads them to a back room where what appear to be restaurant patrons plunge the couple into immediate DS activities. This story is more writable than the former because though it is not much of a plot, it need not be too long. Regarding my site, the G o o g l e traffic has dried up. Traditionally, if your site scores high for a particular search phrase, G o o g l e gives you traffic in cycles, six weeks or so of good, then giving someone else a chance. However, I've never seen it as low as it is now. At the best of times, G o o g l e has given me thousands of daily visitors and now the number is less than twenty. I hope I'm not on any kind of blacklist or triggered any link-spam filtering. I do use some specific methods to present pages aimed to rate high with search engines, but in every case, I provided the promised content and never merely manufacture fake pages. All I can do is keep watching, and perhaps see if I can find any news about new G o o g l e procedures. Fortunately, all the other links from erotic story and link sites bring me quite a few visitors. 01/14/2005I just finished "Unexpected Gift". I hadn't been in the mood to write, but was recording some new story ideas, and this idea sucked me into writing. It is something as a challenge because it's a story where people act in very uncharacteristic ways, which means I have to make other people react plausibly. Sometimes I mull over a word or phrase the way a poet might, to get a sequence of events so that it feels as plausible as I can make it, and so it pushes the erotic buttons which I'm aiming for. This story tries to present a paradox, a strong feminist who accepts the idea of a woman submitting to a man. That has appeared in my stories before on occasion, but perhaps this story stretches it the furthest. This is one of the implausibilities of this story that I try to make plausible. I've been recently corresponding with a couple of adult website owners who have shown some interest in my stories, and it has been satisfying. In general, I have had little contact from either other website owners or from readers, though I have been pleased and gratified on those occasions when someone has written me. 01/05/2005I just added the three stories I'd completed. I haven't been in a writing mood lately which will give me a bit of a chance at the rest of my life, which is good. Fortunately, the desire to write invariably returns. 01/01/2005Well, happy 2005 everyone. Instead of continuing the story I noted yesterday that I'd begun, I've just entered another one that I composed in my head last night. It's a male-dominant marriage story called "Another Anniversary". I write a ton of female dominant stories so I sometimes feel I should equalize things a touch. This one is on a theme I've used before, of one spouse more or less suggesting spanking out of the blue, for no apparent reason, and the other spouse's reaction to the announcement. I know I've written more than one female dominant story based on that idea. I had this particular thought soon after it occurred to me to write a story where a vanilla wife suddenly announces to her husband that he's going to serve her orally, and possibly more. I've recorded that as a story idea for future use. I also recorded an idea for a story about a sorority whose alumni in later years must kiss whenever they meet, "until they feel it there". 12/31/2004Finished "My Girls", which has less than 900 words. It's really just a couple of scenes and is a bit weak. It is one of my many stories in which I make an outrageous incident as plausible as I can, as if the exact series of events and thoughts cause basically ordinary people to do something wildly out of the ordinary. I might tweak the story a bit, but no more. I barely began a new story, called "Seducing Her". The germ of an idea was that when a wife tells a husband that a woman might be interested in her, the husband tells her to pursue it and "see what happens". I still recall from many years ago a letter in one of the Penthouse magazines where a husband or boyfriend wrote that his wife had reported a woman showed an interest and the husband told the wife to do that. The thing that stayed in my mind was this question: Are there really women who would pursue a lesbian relationship just because their SO told them to? I'm certainly not one of them. But given the world's population of billions, and my reading on the Internet since, I think the real question is not "are there such women?" but rather "are there very many such women?" This is not the first time I've been inspired to write a story by a very old memory of a letter, a rumor, someone else's fiction, or some true story that's been rattling around in my head for years, and eventually it finally occurred to me that it could be story material. 12/30/2004I finished "Submissive Personality" yesterday, about a woman whose friend tells her she's submissive. She thinks the idea is crazy, but for one reason or another, goes along with everything she is told. I have a couple of edits in mind. I thought of suggesting a conspiracy, with a very mild hint that the friend brought up the topic deliberately, and perhaps a hint of an agreement between those "using" the woman, or perhaps the opposite, which would be some indication of wonder on the part of one of the participants. I also have some ideas for the final speech. There are points in my writing where I am very particular about speech and thoughts, wanting a very exact effect from the wording and phrasing, making it almost like writing poetry. I have some time and a story I'd like to get down today. It's a bit short and silly, about a landlady of two female college students, the three of them getting caught up in a sexual escapade begun by a guest. There's not much to it so I don't know how I would wind it up in an interesting way. 12/29/2004Hm, everyone has blogs so I guess I'll start one too. Welcome to my world. Right now the entries won't go online, but I'll keep them until I develop something. I just installed one story onto the site, "Right Mood", into the member's area, along with a few corrections to existing stories. Today I found out that "rack your brain" is spelled "rack" rather than "wrack" and fixed that in some old stories. I have another story I intended to write today because it's been on my mind and is fresh. Maybe I'll finish it but I have other things I have to get done today. I correct and change stories sometimes, and I'm ashamed to say it's when I reread them. I try to make sure I'm in a position to correct my original text whenever I do read a story. At this point, there are so many stories that there is little chance for me to go through them all to proofread them again. I am amazed at how many errors slip through. When all I do is a spelling correction, I don't update the date on the story. At the moment, I have eleven stories in progress, some going back to 2003, and somewhere are other unfinished stories that I abandoned years ago. Some of the unfinished stories are very involved and would require a lot of focused mental effort to continue, and others probably failed to inspire me. In some cases, I barely started the story and discovered I wasn't coming up with sufficient plot to write about. For the links section, I just discovered msnaughty.com which I plan to check out further and link to. It includes a number of women's sites I hadn't seen before. I think we're seeing more effort to identify more of the sensibilities that women have about erotic sites. Despite the variety available, it's a challenge to find something online if you have taste as well as erotic preferences.
